Description

4-position circular entrance door for TBH hives or other models.
This model has been designed to fit any or all of the 22 mm diameter holes found in Philip Chandler's Top Bar hives.
Its rigid structure holds the disc firmly against the wood.

Versatile, reliable access control with 4 positions : total closure, vented closure for ventilation, limited opening for bees (to prevent Asian cockroaches, etc.) and total opening,
Diameter : 75 mm
Positioning sn the hive: the center of the disc is 19.5 mm from the center of the 22 mm hole. Above or below depending on hole location.
Mounting using a screw or small metal hook and a metal washer

In the closed position, the entrance door does not provide thermal insulation for the hive during the winter. Use a cork stopper for this 😉

Technical Tips for 3D Printing

Material: PETG, because it's a neutral material, or ASA if exposed to intense sunlight.
My recommendation: if you want to take plastic neutrality a step further, which is almost impossible with manufactured products, opt for PETG certified for food contact.
PLA: not at all suitable for this purpose
Orientation: Easy to print flat in 0.2 mm
