Description

This kit includes 3 3D printable threaded inserts designed for screws M4, M5 and M6. The inserts are designed to be inserted into a pre-drilled hole and then glued in place.

Each insert is equipped with small vanes (idem commercial brass models) around the body. The glue can then circulate around these fins and create very solid mechanical anchoring after drying.

The top washer has two functions:

  • It enables tap or press the insert into place.
  • If you want a perfectly flush surface, the head can also be cut off once the insert has been installed.

Thanks to this insert model, I was able to repair a damaged thread on the power supply of a (new!) 3D printer. Bonded with a two-component epoxy, the assembly power supply/support has become very solid.

Visit thread tolerances of these models have been optimized for 3D printing, to ensure a snug fit with the screws.

Technical Tips for 3D Printing

  • Print the model vertical using a brim if necessary, to improve grip on the plate.

  • Compatible materials : PLA+, ABS, ASA, PETG, nylon, carbon fiber composites, depending on your use and the capabilities of your 3D printer.

  • For best results, use precision and quality settings , ~0.12mm

  • Adjust the cooling and adhesion parameters depending on the filament used, in order to obtain a clean surface and avoid warping.
