Description

Following new readings, various calculations around the golden triangle and after discussions with people who are far more expert than I am on the researcher's work Pier Luigi Ighina and electroculture, here's a new Ighina winding jig for electroculture.

This template for Ighina spirals provides several answers that conventional templates do not fully cover:

  • The use of a golden isosceles triangle 72-54-54 provides very large-diameter spiral, The 36-72-72 design offers much wider flow channelling and propagation than traditional models.
  • Number of turns: 13
  • Total height: 13 cm
  • Diameter of wire used to hollow out the impression: 5 mm
  • 2 models included in the download for a single price: with windings schedule and anti-clockwise
  • Allows you to full spiral to the top
  • Compatibility with copper wire 1.5 mm², 2.5 mm², 1.5 mm²., or more, depending on your needs

Update 11/2025

A few adjustments have been made to facilitate winding:

  • Increase in 1 mm depth of impression, now 5mm
  • Adjustment of the base to facilitate winding start-up

Technical Tips for 3D Printing

3D printing recommendations

This model is bulky and very time-consuming to print with a conventional 3D printer and a 0.4mm nozzle, so I recommend it with :

  • Nozzle: 0.6 mm (significant time savings)
  • Filament : PETG, ideal for outdoor use
  • Walls: 2 to 3
  • Infill: 0 % (or more, depending on your preference)
  • Brackets: not required

With the latest-generation printers, a 0.4mm nozzle is no longer a problem, and neither is speed.
