🌊 Buoyancy - What you need to know

You may be wondering whether this printed model floats properly.
Many off-the-shelf models sinks in less than 30 minutes... a tiny hole is enough (the comments on the sites bear witness to this...).

There is one inescapable principle:
👉 All floating objects must be varnished, painted or coated before being thrown into the water.

This applies to both commercial and 3D printed models.

🛠️ Finishing after printing (essential for waterproofing)

To ensure the perfect buoyancy of your H-Block 3Dpecheur :

  • Apply varnish to seal print micro-spaces.
  • This improves sealing, hardens the surface and guarantees durability.
  • Recommendation: 3 coats acrylic varnish (matt or gloss).
  • A small can of varnish costs less than €3, and application is fast.

🧪 Print test protocol

All the H-Blocks shown in photos or videos were printed on a
ENDER 3 PRO, simply equipped with a BLTouch and a PEI plate.

This proves :

  1. The template is perfectly printable.
  2. Suitable for the vast majority of FDM printers, even the simplest.

If printing is excellent on an Ender 3, it will also be excellent on your machine.

🎯 Designed for real fishing conditions

These models are :

  • Specifically designed for FDM printing
  • Designed to meet the needs of demanding anglers
  • Printed and tested several times under real-life conditions
  • Optimized for reliable performance

This isn't just a 3D file - it's proven fishing equipment on the water's edge.

Technical Tips for 3D Printing

To guarantee watertightness and strength, walls must be no less than 1.2 mm thick, with a minimum of 3 layers.

Infill: 0 to 5 %
Filament: PETG is both strong and flexible - ideal for floats.
The ABS also works very well.
PLA... only if you're a player!
Nozzle: 0.4 mm
Layer height: ~0.12 mm to ~0.20 mm
Orientation: print flat, with supports.

That's how I do it; you'll get just as good results with your own favorite settings!
