Description
Ball float - 3D model for fast and deep water
3D printable ball float model, designed for fishing salmonids and larger fish in both fast and deep waters, whether fishing static or mobile.
When you need precise control of line trajectory in strong, deep currents, with a float capable of supporting large baits, this model is perfect!
Thanks to its perfectly round shape, the TTR2 offers a excellent medium- and long-distance visibility thanks to its 3 mm antenna.
With its 150 mm long, this float allows :
- from more accurate throws,

It represents a notable evolution of the famous “boule Niçoise”, the traditional round float used in France for trout fishing, like the famous Toulousain“ cork”.

Technical Tips for 3D Printing
To be watertight and solid, the walls must not be less than 1.2 mm thick, and must have a minimum of 3 walls.
Infill: 0 to 5 % maximum (personally 0 %).
Filament: PETG is both strong and flexible. Transparent or white versions are perfect for floats.
Nozzle: 0.4 mm maximum.
Layer height: 0.12 mm.
Slicer: the float must be printed flat with supports.
That's how I do it, but you'll get just as good results with your own favorite settings.
Application of a scaling factor: not recommended due to the proportions of the model.
Post-processing and finishing
The float can be painted and/or varnished to improve its visibility.
The varnish fills micro-holes, reinforces rigidity and guarantees watertightness.
👉 3 coats of varnish are recommended for optimum finish.
For those who want to go fast or don't want to tinker too much, fluorescent nail varnish is perfect for the antenna, and a can of acrylic gloss or matte varnish costs less than €3.
In the photo and .GIF video, only the float antenna has been painted neon green and then varnished.
The ball and keel are neither painted nor varnished, which simply shows the white PETG.
