Stake + base for seedling and cutting pots

Description

When you’re starting your seedlings, you’ll need potting soil, pots, gloves, and—depending on the plant species—stakes, which are essential for supporting the young plants during their first few weeks of growth.

Unfortunately, traditional stakes have several drawbacks: when driven directly into the potting soil, they can damage the young roots, are sometimes unstable in moist soil and tend to lean.

To solve these problems, I designed this 3D-printable stake holder, which is located at the bottom of the pot, under the potting soil. This ensures that the support is held securely in place without interfering with the development of the root system.

For stakes, use 1/8″ (≈ 3 mm) bamboo skewers, thin, economical, and rigid.
