Grease applicator for 8 mm threaded rods

Description

Our 3D printable applicator has been designed to evenly coat with grease trapezoidal threaded rods from 8 mm used on the majority of FDM 3D printers, but also on many everyday objects (e.g. espresso machines). Compatible with all types of lubricants except liquids (thick grease, lithium, more viscous lubricants, etc.), it guarantees clean, fast and perfectly distributed lubrication.

🎯 Optimized design

The model features tight, controlled tolerances, allowing the tool to :

• Open sufficiently then get back into shape easily thanks to its elasticity.
• Pinch firmly the threaded rod, while retaining internal space to store grease and ensure smooth sliding.
• Print without unwanted melting between the walls, even on basic FDM 3D printers such as the Ender 3.

• 1 & 2 : Even application of white lithium grease on an 8 mm rod.
• 3 : The grease is distributed perfectly in the threads after a simple back-and-forth movement, with a minimum of spillage.

🧪 Tests performed

Tested on several 3D printer models.
The samples shown in the photos and GIFs were printed on a Original Ender 3 Pro (with BLTouch and PEI plate), to prove :

1. 3D printability.
2. print quality on standard FDM machines, without advanced technologies.

➡️ Conclusion: if our model prints well on an Ender 3, it will be fantastic and just as functional on yours.
