Technical Tips for 3D Printing

🛠️ Recommended 3D printing parameters for doorstop

- Nozzle: 0.4 mm
- Layer height: 0.12-0.20 mm (0.2 mm works perfectly, as shown in photo)
- Filling ratio: Minimum 40 % with 4 walls; 100 % recommended for maximum strength (see note below).
- Filament : PETG recommended; ABS, ASA or Nylon if possible
- Supports: Easy printing with supports; preferably without a support roof
- Scaling: Do not apply a scale factor - the part is functional as designed

⚠️ Why we recommend filling to 100 %

- Maximum mechanical strength: The part has to withstand repeated pressure and impact when opening and closing motorhome or boat doors.
- Long-term durability: Recreational vehicle parts are subject to vibration, temperature variations and humidity. Full filling prevents cracks and deformation.
- Function identical to the original: Original quality doorstops are dense and solid. Filling to 100 % guarantees similar behavior.
- Prevention of breakage: Even with robust filaments such as PETG, ABS or ASA, low fill levels can lead to breakage under stress.

In a nutshell: a 100% % filling guarantees a strong, durable and fully functional doorstop, capable of withstanding the rigors of recreational vehicles.
⚡ Save time and frustration

This is a technical part, not a decorative object. Save your PLA for gadgets 😉.
PLA will not withstand the intensive conditions of a recreational vehicle. Using it can lead to premature breakage.
Use the strongest possible filament and prefer full fill for optimum performance.
