Fly-tying, several spool holders are essential<\/strong>. Many people who own a top-of-the-range model with a ceramic tube (around \u20ac30) are forced to cut the wire to change the spool. Inexpensive models (\u20ac5-10), manufactured in India or Asia, often exert excessive tension on the finest wires.<\/p>\n

As I don't like to change spools during assembly, and prefer to have several spools loaded and ready to use, here at last is my 3D printable spool-holder model, featuring the following features following features:<\/strong><\/p>\n

- Standard size\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

- Easy printing\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The disc provides a firm grip between thumb and forefinger<\/strong>, This is a classic structure but, in my opinion, far superior to cylindrical models; ;<\/p>\n

The spring-loaded spool holder ensures uniform tension<\/strong>, neither too strong nor too weak, provided you use filaments resistant to relative bending<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The tube is designed for versatility: its diameter is ideal for mounting small flies, large flies, medium-sized nymphs and streamers.<\/p>\n

The gthe wire in the tube is excellent<\/strong> and allows the use of a wide variety of wires or tinsel.<\/p>\n

I mount small nymphs very easily with floss.<\/p>\n

Loading the spool: this model loads like all the others, even when the wire is sucked in.<\/p>\n
